It's shocking and sad how many people keep quiet and censure themselves in their daily lives at work.
There's a pervasive fear of hierarchy in many companies which keeps people silent around their manager and on up the chain. Then, keeping quiet becomes their new normal.
There’s a fear thought in there: Be respectful, be agreeable. What if they think I sound dumb or that I’m disagreeing? What if I stop trying to be someone else for a little while?
Silence in a healthy company is really career suicide.
